OnlyCuraçao guides are designed to help you make better decisions before the trip and calmer decisions while you are on the island. Use this guide as a practical starting point, then verify anything time-sensitive directly with the relevant business or authority.

02The current portal says international visitors apply within seven days before departure
03Use your real passport information and an accessible email address
04Save the approval confirmation before traveling

Start with the official entry portal

Go directly to dicardcuracao.com and confirm that you are using the official Curaçao entry portal before entering passport or contact information. The portal explains the Digital Immigration Card, shows the current eligibility rules and provides a support address when a submitted card cannot be found.

The portal currently says that international visitors complete the card within the seven days before departure. Entry procedures can change, so check the current wording again shortly before your trip instead of relying only on a saved social-media post or an older article.

Know whether the rule applies to you

The official portal describes the card as mandatory for foreign visitors clearing immigration in Curaçao and says residents registered on the island are exempt. A person born in Curaçao but currently living abroad may still need the card; the portal specifically explains that birthplace alone is not the same as local residency.

Families should check each traveler's information individually. Do not assume one parent's submission covers a partner, child or another member of the group without confirming the instructions shown in the current application flow.

Gather the details before you begin

Keep the passport you will travel with beside you and use an email account you can open while away from home. The entry portal asks for travel, passport, contact and personal information; spelling and dates should match your documents exactly.

Have your accommodation details and flight information available. If someone else helps you complete the form, check every field yourself before submitting and make sure the confirmation goes to an address you control.

  • The valid passport used for the trip
  • An accessible email address
  • Flight and travel details
  • Your Curaçao accommodation or contact information
  • The current instructions from the official portal

Save your confirmation in more than one place

The portal explains that the confirmation may need to be shown during airline check-in and made available to immigration on arrival. Save the document on your phone, take a screenshot and keep a copy accessible without mobile data. A printed backup can also help if your battery runs out.

If the email does not arrive, check spam first. The official site describes how to retrieve or edit an existing card and provides its own support channel for unresolved problems. Avoid sharing a passport number publicly or sending documents through unofficial social accounts.

Treat the card as one part of entry preparation

The Digital Immigration Card does not replace a valid passport, visa requirements that may apply to your nationality, your airline's document checks or any other current entry rule. Confirm the complete requirements with the relevant authority and carrier, especially when your circumstances are unusual.

Set a reminder within the application window and handle the form before the final packing rush. It is much easier to correct a spelling mistake from home than while standing at an airport counter.

If you were born in Curaçao but live abroad, read the residency explanation on the official portal rather than assuming you are automatically exempt.
